For once, I was looking forward to Monday. The last two weeks have been really, really, really hard in so many ways. It feels like every corner of my life is just a mess. And let's say my life is a dodecahedron, one of those weird dice with too many sides and definitely too many corners.
Surprisingly, only about half of the mess is related to the move. Now that we know what country we are going to, it seems that things can only improve. Since last Monday when we got the confirmation that we were yes, going to Italy, we have gotten our orders amended, we've heard from our sponsor, and we've made appointments to get our many various types of household goods packed up.
But then there's Grace who is suffering the heartache of a broken friendship that DH and I can't figure out how to help her with because we can't find the truth of what happened. There's Alex who is having some strange self-image issues that I have no idea how to respond to. There are extended family difficulties that have left deep wounds on all of us and overall, we just feel like we've been put through the wringer.
So I thought...Monday. Fresh start to the week. Bring it on. I decided to sleep in, since none of us have been sleeping well and the only major thing the kids have left to complete this year is math. After an extra hour in bed, I got up and decided to deal with some spyware on the desktop computer. Which, since I just did this in January, I still had the tech support contract.
3 hours later, my computer is wiped clean and factory reset. I hate that. I can't help but think that is what tech support does when they are ready to go home for the day. Rather than keep trying to fix stuff, they just say "Ma'am, I am afraid that the only solution is to completely reset your computer. Is there any important data this machine?" Dude...it's a computer. In my house, that means there's important data. It's still not behaving properly and I hate having to reinstall every thing. Our external hard drive has saved most of our data, but setting up the printers and all the favorites and iTunes and gahhhh....
Tuesday. Let's try for Tuesday, because Monday did not live up to my expectations.
